Editorial Standards
These are the standards everu.net is written to. They exist so that a sentence on this site can be held against something.
Where the figures come from
Millimetre sizes, chain and bracelet lengths, extender lengths, weights in grams, metals, stones, fastenings and prices come from our own product data, and a page prints them out of that data rather than out of a paragraph somebody typed. Where a piece gives no weight or no length, the line is left blank rather than guessed. A measurement we do not have is not invented.
What a metal claim may say here
Where a page says nickel, lead and cadmium free, it is repeating what our own data says about the alloy of that piece, and it is a statement about metal content only. This site does not tell anyone that a piece is safe for their skin, will not irritate a piercing, or is suitable for a particular allergy. Those pages carry a named public source on skin reactions to metal, with the date it was read, and they say plainly that a reaction is a question for a clinician: the long version is on earrings when your ears react to metal.
Stones and months
A birthstone month is named as the tradition it is, from the modern list the American jewellery trade keeps. Where the stone in a piece is cut cubic zirconia in the colour of that month, the page says so. A page here does not call a zirconia a sapphire, and it does not carry claims about what a stone does for anyone.
Photographs
Every piece is shown in the finish being sold. A photograph with a size chart, an award or a claim printed into the image is kept off the page, and a picture that contradicts the text beside it comes off rather than getting a caption to explain it away.
Comments from buyers
Quotes on the front page are real, public and attributed to a verified buyer rather than to a name and a town. They are shortened for length and never reworded. A complaint stays a complaint. A quote that makes a claim we would not make ourselves, that a pair cured an irritation, that silver never darkens, is not used, however good it sounds.
What gets pulled
A piece that sells out leaves the site at the next build. A figure that turns out to be wrong is corrected on the page and the correction is noted on how we update the catalogue. Write to hallmark@everu.net with the page and the figure.
