A moonstone cut as a teardrop, hung so it turns. The stone is the reason for the price: it reads white in a photograph and blue-grey in daylight, and the colour moves as the drop swings, which is a property of the stone rather than of the setting. Two things are worth knowing before ordering. A stone that changes with the light will not match the photograph in every room, and somebody expecting a flat white drop will be surprised the first time it goes grey against a window. And the back on a drop is a lever rather than a butterfly: it closes with a click and it goes in from the front, which a few buyers have found the wrong way round on arrival.
